Amy Newsom, FNP
For 28 years, I've worn the badge of "nurse" with pride — through emergency rooms, medical-surgical floors, and clinics, standing beside patients in their hardest moments.
Along the way, a conviction took root in me: that true health is about more than a prescription pad and a fifteen-minute visit. I chased that conviction all the way to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner — then went further, training with mentors in holistic and naturopathic medicine, because I refused to believe "conventional" and "natural" had to sit on opposite sides of the room.
Today I combine both worlds: the rigor of standard-of-care medicine with the depth and personalization of integrative healing.

Eight years ago, my family lost our 13-year-old son, Joshua. There is no training that prepares you for that kind of pain — for a while, I simply had to stop and learn how to breathe again.
The tools I'd spent my career teaching patients — nourishing food, restorative sleep, releasing stress, leaning on faith and community — were the same tools that carried me. I stopped just believing in the body's capacity to heal. I had lived it. That grief became the seed for Newsom Wellness, which I founded alongside my husband, Joel, a retired Army veteran and steady partner in this work. I watched too many patients finish treatment and get sent home with no real conversation about nutrition, sleep, stress, or what their bodies needed to actually recover.
I'm a wife, a mother of seven, and a believer who has walked through fire and found purpose on the other side. I don't do this work from a textbook — I do it from having needed this kind of support myself. If you're facing cancer or chronic illness and want to be treated as a whole person, not just a diagnosis, I'd be honored to walk this path with you.  Welcome to Newsom Wellness. I'm so glad you're here.
Your body was designed to heal, and it deserves every advantage in doing so.
